ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the prevailing quest for security in our unstable and ever-changing society. It is a big problem that many people want the teachers and what goes on in schools to be predictable. Meaning that they could serve and present some packages. These claims are extremely problematic because the teacher without any doubt faces a bigger challenge, or maybe even an obligation, to be unpredictable and to come up with things that one could never know that he or she will invent, present, and deal with — and thereby ‘fertilize’ pupils and students far beyond a mandatory master plan for a school. Without learning goals, without strict regulations, one has no secure and trustworthy school. Our sense of the probability-of-terror reactions have ballooned. It’s probably also due to the intensified globalization of the economy, the intensified technological development that might diminish or even abolish jobs, and intensify automation.
