ABSTRACT
Planning research raises quite specific ethical issues, as well as issues of personal safety and well-being. Often, planning students conduct research on organisations for which they work, or in places that are uncomfortable or potentially dangerous – and therefore a focus for important questions about urban policy. In addition to being a general introduction to research ethics, this chapter explores and encourages discussion on the peculiarities of research in such environments.
