ABSTRACT
One of the major features and advantages of the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA), and Lightweight DITA (LwDITA), is the ability to specify and generate arbitrary collections of topic content. The document type of map enables this grouping of topics. This chapter explains the components of a map in the initial LwDITA authoring formats, which are based on the Extensible Markup Language (XML), the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), and Markdown. The map examples are based on the scenario of a chef who wants to publish a promotional brochure for a restaurant franchise. This chapter also discusses how to publish content from LwDITA sources using open source and commercial software applications.
