ABSTRACT
A group’s ability to achieve its goals, and sometimes its very survival, candepend on its composition, defined as the number and characteristicsof its members (Moreland & Levine, 2003; Moreland, Levine, & Wingert, 1996). It is therefore not surprising that groups often devote substantial time and energy to trying to manage their composition.
