ABSTRACT
The present information-based society has emerged from an accelerated process of knowledge production supported by globalization policies, most of which respond to neoliberal tenets. Knowledge thus appears as the basis for economic productivity and competitive markets, and has consequently shifted from being a common good to what we can call “capitalist knowledge”: a private form of knowledge at the service of multinational corporations of production, distribution, and commercialization.
