ABSTRACT

Mature B-cell neoplasms, clonal proliferation of B-cells, are the most common type of malignant lymphoma. Mature B-cell neoplasms involve blood and BM, lymph node, spleen, and other extranodal sites. Extranodal involvement is seen in SMZL, mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma, BL, primary effusion lymphoma, plasmablastic lymphoma, and MALT lymphoma. The allele-specific oligonucleotide-PCR assay is one of the most sensitive PCR technologies available, but it requires the generation of patient-specific primers and is costly and labor intensive. Immunohistochemical analysis shows expression of B-cell markers, CD25, Annexin 1, TRAP, and DBA44. Nodal Marginal Zone B-cell Lymphoma Nodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma occurs most commonly in the cervical lymph nodes, is more aggressive than extranodal MZL, and presents with an advanced stage III/IV disease. Immunophenotype Phenotypically, MZL has a non-specific phenotype without expression of CD5, CD10, and CD103.
