ABSTRACT
The purpose of the Measure phase is to give a true and accurate picture of the condition as it relates to the project. Another important part of Measure is to establish baseline capability levels. Prioritization Matrix may also be used in other phases such as Analyze and Improve. A Measurement Systems Analysis is a specially designed experiment that seeks to identify the components of variation in the measurement. Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility is the amount of measurement variation introduced by a measurement system, which consists of the measuring instrument itself and the individuals using the instrument. The hardest part of Measure is gathering the information in a non-biased non-judgmental way. The important thing to remember about the Measure phase is that without a clear concise picture of the state, it may be difficult later to show a process improvement.
