ABSTRACT

Imagine the hungry friends Derek, Deborah, and Ines go to an Italian restaurant. Ines has a quick look at the menu and closes the little book with a snap (and a decision for lasagne) while Derek has not even finished reading the first page. He considers various dishes and compares prices, ingredients and calories. After a while, he finally has two options left and chooses the one with the best cost-benefit balance: the scampi-pasta is said to be excellent for a quite reasonable price. Deborah is still in the process of comparing prices and tastes, when the waiter comes and takes the orders of the group. Although she has actually not made a decision yet, she goes for a pizza, because she realizes that the other guys are hungry and are waiting for her order.
