ABSTRACT
An eighty-four-year-old white man with dementia is in bed, restrained because he was physically aggressive with the nurses, as the interdisciplinary palliative care team enters his hospital room. A twenty-four-hour nurse assistant has been assigned to his room to monitor his care around the clock.
