ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Despite the significant advances that have been made during the last several decades, much remains to be learned about the most effective methods for managing major depressive disorder (MDD). We continue to stand at a point of potentially massive change in our understanding of what are the most effective tools in our psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic armamentarium, as well as what are the most effective ways to utilize these tools. Several domains that represent the most promising and compelling areas of MDD-focused research are highlighted in the following section.
