ABSTRACT
There is one genus and 2 species of Melanocetidae in the WCNA: Melanocetus murrayi & M. johnstonii (Pietsch 2003d). The family is believed to possess free-living, nonparasitic males. However no spent females or females with obvious denticilar teeth scarring have been observed.
