ABSTRACT

A spreadsheet program is often referred to as an electronic accountant's pad. However, a closer look at an electronic spreadsheet reveals that it is much more than just a neat representation of rows and columns. Its facility for table lookup, its ability to do quick "what-if" calculations and to handle "if-then-else" logic functions, and its capability to provide graphic displays and define keyboard macros makes it a handy tool for performing both simple and complex engineering calculations [1-8].
