ABSTRACT

Bangalore has four valleys and Koramangala Valley is the largest of them. Ejipura is located in the valley. This area is prone to flooding. It is a new extension to Ejipura village and the large storm water drain runs through this area. Nevertheless, flooding continues to be a problem in the nearby slums. The problem is they are about four ft below the level of the tank bed and storm water drain. Whenever it rains, sewage and rainwater gushes into different entry points within the slum like fountains. Some associations did not want to join the federation. They thought that it would be better to stay as individual institutions and use the political/official connections they had built to get things for their own area. The only impact can be that people come together and show they have come together. It also does help organisations to have more transparency.
