ABSTRACT

Microsoft alone issues a new patch about every fifth day,

how can anyone keep up?

The complexity and the labor-intensive process of sort-

ing through growing volumes of alerts, figuring out applic-

ability to unique IT environments and configurations,

testing patches prior to implementing, and finally orches-

trating the process of timely updates begins to overwhelm

even the most resourceenabled IT organizations.

Overtaxed system administrators do not have the band-

width to deal with the torrent of patches and hot fixes.
