ABSTRACT

Authentication is the act of someone establishing an

identity that they have declared them to be. In the world

of computers the most prevalent example is when the

users authenticate to prove that they are the persons

assigned to a specific ID that is used to control access to

a system. There are three different types or factors of

authentication. These three factors are something you

know, something you have, and something you are.

These can be used individually or together to authenticate

an identity.
