The popularity of VPNs seems to have blossomed over-

night. The ability to remove the responsibility of maintain-

ing a dedicated line for each contiguous remote user at the

corporate site and leverage the existing Internet connection

to multiplex a greater number of connections previously

unobtainable has catapulted VPN technology.
