ABSTRACT

A radio card and the access point can be set up to work

together in a matter of minutes. The architecture of a

wireless LAN is very similar to a traditional Ethernet

network. A typical Ethernet network can be thought of as

a “hub and spoke.” Computing devices are wired to an

Ethernet hub, or to a switch that passively or actively

forwards network traffic. Wireless LANs function in

exactly the same way, except there are no wires to the

hub. Instead, network traffic is transmitted in modulated

radio frequency.
