ABSTRACT

The rules of modeling have changed with the advent of digital sculpting programs like ZBrush and Mudbox. in the past it was necessary to build up your mesh, splitting polygons and adding definition in a slow and time-consuming fashion. Most of the “old school” processes are still valid and beneficial in your modeling workflow, but the benefits of achieving mind-blowing detail by using a sculpting application to get you from point A to point B quicker represents the new generation—or renaissance, if you will—of the modeler’s future.
