ABSTRACT

Over the past few years we have heard much about diets, that is, various means of controlling one’s weight or losing weight. Many people, in an attempt to control their perceived tendency toward obesity, attempt all sorts of fad diets to lose or maintain certain ideal weights. Many of these diets fail to provide the body with the appropriate nourishment it requires for good health. Pilots often forget good common sense about proper nutrition, and as a result, pilots may be more fatigued, less resistant to the effects of G-forces, and have reduced capacity for cognitive functioning.
