ABSTRACT

Evaluation is a continuing process. We are evaluated in our training, in our certification check rides, and on our periodic flight reviews. Serious pilots self-evaluate all of their flying, regardless of who is on board or the purpose of the flight. Each of us have certain mental models of appropriate performance and consciously or subconsciously compare our performances with those models. The validity of the model to which we compare our performance depends upon our training and our own attitudes regarding the activity of flying.
