ABSTRACT
Description: Epogen and Procrit are trade names given to an identical product-human erythropoietin, produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells using recombinant DNA technology. The products exhibit an amino acid sequence identical to the naturally occurring molecule but differ somewhat from this in terms of their exact glycosylation pattern. The product stimulates the production of red blood cells and is provided as a liquid formulation for intravenous and subcutaneous administration.
