ABSTRACT

Description: Neulasta is a recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (GCSF), conjugated to a single 20-kDa methoxypolyethylene glycolpropionaldehyde (PEG) molecule at the N terminus. A nonpegylated form of the molecule is marketed in the U.S. under the trade name Neupogen. The 175amino acid G-CSF is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Escherichia coli, followed by in υitro attachment of the PEG molecule. Like Neupogen, Neulasta stimulates the production of neutrophils in the blood. Neulasta is presented in prefilled syringes as a solution for subcutaneous injections.
