ABSTRACT
The best known example of ACD is the linear vesicular skin response that is
often seen hours after contact with poison ivy, at which time itching is a
prominent symptomatic feature.
Allergenic chemicals penetrate the skin as small molecules (usually <400
MW), and they are incompletely allergenic (haptens) until they bind to protein
and form a complete allergen.
