ABSTRACT
Many countries are developing spatial data infrastructures to better manage and utilise their spatial data assets by taking a perspective that starts at a local level and proceeds through state, national and regional levels to the global level, as was highlighted in Chapter 2. Increasingly these countries are finding it necessary to cooperate with other countries to develop Regional (multi-national) SDIs to assist in decision-making that has an important impact across national boundaries.
