ABSTRACT

What constitutes a State SDI is complex. State SDIs are closely tied to land administration activities (cadastre, land registration, land use planning, land valuation and supporting land markets) and associated natural resource management objectives within a jurisdiction and require medium (1:10,000 to 1:25, 000) to large scale (1:5,000 to 1:1,000 or larger) spatial data, which includes cadastral or land parcel data as a key component. These forms of SDI are significantly different from National SDI which tend to be the major focus of SDI conferences and workshops and which are based on small scale datasets (1:25,000 or smaller) as a central component.
