ABSTRACT
When applied to vision, morphology (from the Greek word morph, meaning shape or form) refers to the alteration of an image using computer routines. A more-common use for the term is the changing of an image in graduated steps (similar to the “morphing” of an image of a baby to an adult), although this is a particular type of morphology.
