ABSTRACT
New risks and exposures accompany the widespread implementation and use of networks and a distributed client/server processing environment. Networks provide greater flexibility for accessing and sharing information and resources. The advantages to networking, however, increase the exposure of sensitive information and make it necessary to implement control strategies to maintain information integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
