ABSTRACT

You should now have a fairly good idea of the type of system that you would like to build (or how to enhance components of your existing system) for the purpose of producing an enterprise-capable consolidated logging and alerting tool. Now the problem presents itself: how are you going to get the necessary funding and project team together to actually execute this grand plan. In the long run this should clearly be a benefit to your enterprise, including not only the security groups, and, as we have shown, other IT groups within your organization, but how can you justify it to your core team and the overall program groups? Early in Chapter 1 we touched on just why you would want to go down this path, but here we go into more depth.
