ABSTRACT
Statistics is looked upon by many scientists and engineers as an important and necessary tool for the interpretation of their measurement results. However, many have not taken the time to thoroughly understand the basic principles upon which the science and practice of statistics are based. This chapter attempts to explain these principles and provide a practical understanding of how they are related to data interpretation and analysis.
