ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the procedures most commonly used to estimate the statistical parameters of measurement data upon which statistically based decisions about scientific and engineering data are made. A thorough understanding of these procedures will not only permit one to use them intelligently for data analysis but should also prove to be useful for better planning and execution of measurement programs.
