ABSTRACT

In previous chapters, we have learned how to apply a standard notation (UML) to knowledge modeling and have defined a framework for capturing knowledge (knowledge acquisition) to produce the knowledge that will be the cornerstone of our KMS. Now we must take the next step, apply our UML-based framework and develop a KMS. As stated in earlier in this book (Chapter 2), knowledge acquisition is just one piece of the KMS architecture pie. Albeit an important part of the overall KMS, it has been a challenge to effectively build this into our KMS.
