ABSTRACT

By definition, tacit knowledge is not easily shared. One of Polanyi’s famous aphorisms is “We know much more than we can tell.” From the basis of Polanyi’s research we know that tacit knowledge resides in the minds of individuals. This knowledge is the most difficult to capture. This knowledge takes the form of insights, intuitions, and inspiration. As such, this knowledge is less tangible and is deeply embedded into an individual as well as the organization’s operating practices.
