ABSTRACT
Ethernet has become the most universal and extensively deployed local area network (LAN) technology due to its relatively low cost and simple setup. As the throughput of Ethernet increased from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps (IEEE 802.3ae), it gained popularity as a metropolitan area network (MAN) service, commonly referred to as metro Ethernet service.
