ABSTRACT

If the metro service providers (MSPs) only offer a single homogeneous service, they can only charge a fixed rate for bandwidth and cannot take full advantage of the new revenue opportunities created by differentiated services. Bandwidth has become such a commodity in the metro space that it is no longer enough for MSPs to offer plain bandwidth. In this new-age era, metro subscribers would like to have the benefit of selecting a whole range of services that can fulfill each and every one of their individual requirements and preferences.
