ABSTRACT

In this book, we have tried to present several concepts in analog VLSI design automation. Most important of all, we have proposed a design flow for the design automation of analog circuits that takes the problem from the specification stage at the system level and carries it all the way to the layout level, yielding a layout that is ready to be fabricated. This design flow, in turn, specifies the tools to be used in analog design automation. We have clearly listed these specifications and how each tool interacts with the other. We have also developed our own software for each of the tools. Some of the tools we have developed are by no means the best in the literature and can be substituted by better tools as long as the new ones fit into the design flow. However, our work in improving our individual tools is continuing.
