ABSTRACT
The following describes testing as a process rather than a life cycle phase. A quality assurance department that treats testing as a life cycle phase should integrate the concepts in this section into its current systems development methodology. If the development methodology provides for testing throughout the design and maintenance methodology but is not well defined, the testing approach must be expanded and modified to correspond to the process described in this manual.
