ABSTRACT
Organizations with overseas facilities may find that U.S. standards related to pedestrian safety are not well recognized. Even the research community is somewhat segmented when performing this type of work. Whereas the U.S. has historically considered the static coefficient of friction (SCOF) as the most important measure related to pedestrian slip resistance, other countries have focused on the measurement of dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) as most representative measurement of slip resistance.
