ABSTRACT

Malaria is one of the biggest health problems in Africa and other tropical regions. Five vectors of malaria have been recognised in Africa (Fontenille and Lochouarn, 1999). They are Anopheles gambiae, Anopheles arabiensis, Anopheles funestus, Anopheles nili, and Anopheles moucheti. The developmental stages of Anopheles species thrive in still, clean waters, and the adults have been effectively controlled by the use of insecticidal spraying of walls and ceilings of houses.
