ABSTRACT
The popularity of epoxyphosphonates emanates from their simplicity, ease of access, and reactivity. The discovery of the antibiotic fosfomycin

It has also given a biochemical significance to 1,2epoxyalkylphosphonates and their derivatives. The fosfomycin phenomenon has largely contributed to the interest in and development of this topic.
