In the ER approach, entities are objects or things that an enterprise wants to remember. They can be physical (e.g., individuals, products, or buildings) or logical (e.g., departments, accounts, or ideas). Relationships are the connections between the entities; that is, employees
work
in departments or products are
stocked
in warehouses. An entity relationship is diagrammed in Figure 2.1.
