ABSTRACT

Once the needs of the enterprise are made clear through a well-defined Technology Charter, the architect can begin the development of the Conceptual Architecture, which focuses on the system landscape in an enterprise. It is often tempting for architects to immediately model conceptual designs of the enterprise with the working knowledge of the current environment. However, without gaining buy-in at the strategic level from the leadership and understanding what the enterprise requires, there are high risks that the current environment may bias the correct evolution of the systems.
