ABSTRACT

The amount spent on technology by organizations today is amazing; IDC, the Framingham, Massachusetts-based research firm, predicted that the total worldwide IT industry revenue for 2002 would amount to $875 billion, a figure lower than what was initially forecast, when total IT revenues for that year were expected to remain above $900 billion. However, IDC expects growth rates to improve for several years, followed by slower growth later in the decade that will likely pass the trillion-dollar mark.
