ABSTRACT

Lung cancer is the most common cancer-related cause of death among men and women. The two main types of lung cancer are non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). Each type affects different types of cells in the lung. NSCLC, generally known as the common type of lung cancer, can be divided further into three categories such as: squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and large-cell carcinoma. SCLC is highly associated with smoking and spreads very fast. Among all types of lung cancer, small-cell lung cancer is associated with the lowest rate of 5-year survival.
