ABSTRACT

Lineups Under normal circumstances, lineups can be extremely emotional experiences for victims of crime. Those of us in law enforcement have experienced first hand the memory problems that plague the victims of crime. The fear and the shock experienced by a victim of violent crime can overshadow the victim’s ability to make a reliable identification of the assailant. Frequently, the victim’s memory tends to focus on that fear and shock, creating difficulties when it comes time to give accurate descriptions and to make identifications.
