ABSTRACT

Although the thought of having children after surviving cancer may seem like a daunting task fraught with difficulty, the majority of available evidence suggests that the overall pregnancy outcomes are good. Nonetheless, preconceptional assessment of probable pregnancy complications and outcomes, optimization of maternal health before pregnancy, and a multidisciplinary approach to complicated cases are advisable. It is hoped that a future national cancer registry would aid in more accurate, disease-specific assessment of risk and prediction of outcome.
