ABSTRACT

Up till now designers interpreted designing comfortable products as realising the absence of discomfort in a product by correctly applying human factors knowledge. Ergonomics are traditionally focused on minimising discomfort and health complaints, which are necessary but not sufficient. True designing with comfort as a major focus point sets the need for an approach that looks at (comfort) expectations and emotional aspects as well.
