ABSTRACT
Cities are aiming at a personal relationship with their inhabitants. However, cities hardly ever use the potential of design for stimulating the senses. The city as a living space is constituted not only by architecture and urban planning, but also by its design. We all know places we dislike, others we enjoy, some we avoid, and others we appreciate and recommend. What are the local features that make us feel comfortable? How do we identify with the city?
