ABSTRACT

In the previous note [1], we have stated the result of the application of Dirac’s new ideas to calculation of the electro-static interaction of two charges. In this article, we give the detailed account of this result and also give the application of Dirac’s ideas to a more exact account of the interaction with the help of Dirac’s linear Hamilton function. The work is divided into three parts. In the first part, we consider the problem of quantization of the electro-magnetic field in an empty space, which is of new interest in view of Dirac’s ideas. In the second part, an application is made to the calculation of the interaction resulting from the scalar potential in the Schro¨dinger equation, and the Coulomb force is obtained. This part, in an abbreviated form, was the subject of the previous note. In the third part, an application to Dirac’s Hamilton operator is made.
