Infants born to smokers had a significantly higher incidence of eye squint compared to nonsmokers matched for age, parity, number of children, residence, and marital status (22.5 vs. 11.5 per 1000, respectively). Children of smokers, however, had a significantly lower incidence of dacryostenosis (4.4 vs. 9.9 per 1000, respectively).
