ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses how reliability specifications can be translated into equipment designs and describes those reliability improvement attributes which facilitate this translation into acceptable hardware. The reliability specifications, described in Chapter 3, are established to meet operational needs and to minimize total LCC while maintaining plant safety levels.
